Effective date: November 2, 2026 These rules apply to customers and visitors at Fleck's Mart, 9899 S Clare Ave, Clare, MI 48617. Follow posted instructions, equipment labels, staff directions and emergency personnel. This policy promotes safe conduct; it is not a waiver of legal rights or a guarantee that hazards will never occur.
Emergencies and immediate hazards
For a fire, serious injury, major spill, violent threat or other immediate danger, move to a safe place and call 911. Notify staff as soon as it is safe. Do not rely on a website message or social-media message for emergency help. Follow evacuation instructions and keep emergency access routes clear. Do not return to a closed area until staff or emergency responders permit it.
Store Hours and Fuel-Pump Access
Fuel pumps are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, subject to posted closures, holiday exceptions, maintenance and emergency restrictions. The convenience store and staff-assisted services have separate operating hours. Check the current store and holiday schedules before visiting. Twenty-four-hour fuel access does not mean that staff are available at all times. For immediate danger or an emergency outside store hours, move to safety and call 911; do not wait for a response to a store call or website message.
Before and during fueling
Turn off the engine before dispensing fuel. No smoking, vaping, flames or other ignition sources in fueling areas. Place the vehicle in park or otherwise secure it against movement. Keep children and pets away from dispensers and moving vehicles. Fuel dispensing is for competent adults; ask staff if assistance is needed.
Verify the fuel type, grade and compatibility with the vehicle or equipment before dispensing. Read dispenser labels; do not rely on nozzle color alone. Stay at the nozzle and attend the operation. Avoid distractions and do not re-enter the vehicle while fueling. If re-entry occurs, discharge static by touching vehicle metal away from the fill opening before handling the nozzle again. Do not wedge a nozzle open or bypass its automatic shutoff. Stop when the nozzle shuts off; do not top off. Return the nozzle and replace the cap before moving the vehicle.
Fuel compatibility and portable containers
Use only fuel approved by the vehicle or equipment manufacturer. E15 is for approved vehicles only; do not dispense it into motorcycles, boats, small engines or other prohibited equipment. Follow all dispenser compatibility labels. If the wrong fuel may have been dispensed, stop and notify staff; do not start the engine or attempt to drain fuel yourself.
Use only approved fuel containers suitable for the product. Place portable containers on the ground, never inside a vehicle, pickup bed or trailer during filling. Keep the nozzle in contact with the container opening, dispense slowly and follow the container's fill-limit instructions, allowing space for expansion. Seal and secure containers for transport. Do not use glass, beverage bottles or leaking containers.
Spills leaks and refueling fires
Stop dispensing immediately if a spill, leak or equipment malfunction occurs. Alert staff and keep people away. Do not start an engine near a spill, wash fuel into drains, or attempt an untrained cleanup. Use a marked emergency shutoff only if it can be reached safely without approaching danger.
If fuel ignites, release the nozzle lever if safely possible, leave the nozzle in place, move away and alert others. Do not pull a burning nozzle from the vehicle or container. Call 911 from a safe location. Do not attempt firefighting unless trained and it is safe to do so; customers should evacuate and leave response to qualified personnel.
Parking drive thru and pedestrian safety
Drive at walking speed, follow posted traffic directions, watch for pedestrians, and yield when needed. Do not block accessible spaces, access aisles, ramps, exits, fire lanes or delivery routes. Use the drive-thru only as directed; pedestrians and cyclists should use the store entrance or request a safe alternative. Check clearance before entering and remain in the vehicle unless staff direct otherwise. Do not use phones or other distractions while moving through the lot. Supervise children and secure pets. Report collisions or damage promptly when safe.
Walking surfaces food and beverages
Watch for wet surfaces, snow, ice, curbs, hoses and changing weather conditions. Use designated routes and follow temporary barriers and warning signs. Tell staff about a spill, trip hazard or unsafe condition; do not move barriers or attempt a cleanup involving fuel, chemicals, blood or other hazardous material.
Hot beverages and equipment can cause burns. Use appropriate cups and lids, handle carefully, and supervise children. Ask staff about ingredient or allergen information; do not assume unpackaged food or shared beverage equipment is free from allergens or cross-contact. Follow package instructions and do not consume a product that appears damaged, spoiled or tampered with.
Air vacuum ATM and other equipment
Read and follow posted instructions. Do not use damaged equipment or attempt repairs. For tire inflation, use the vehicle manufacturer's recommended cold-tire pressure and suitable equipment; do not treat the tire sidewall maximum as the normal inflation target. If unsure, stop and seek qualified assistance. Keep vacuum hoses, electrical cords and tools clear of moving vehicles. Protect PINs and personal items at payment devices and ATMs. Report suspected tampering to staff without handling the device.
Conduct restricted sales and access
Threats, harassment, violence, theft, vandalism and interference with safe operations are prohibited. Do not enter staff-only areas, storage areas, equipment enclosures or fuel-system access points. Age-restricted sales require legally sufficient identification and compliance with applicable rules. Staff may pause service, stop a dispenser, close an unsafe area, refuse an unlawful transaction, or require a person to leave when legally permitted. Decisions will not be based on unlawful discrimination. Nothing here creates an unrestricted right to search customers or their property.
Accessibility and assistance
Customers with disabilities may request assistance with fueling, shopping or communication by notifying staff or calling 989-424-6315. We will provide assistance and reasonable modifications as required by applicable law, without an unlawful surcharge. Staffing conditions may affect how assistance is provided; staff will explain available arrangements. Service animals are permitted as required by law. Accessible routes and access aisles must remain clear.
Security incident reports and legal rights
Security measures, including cameras where used, do not guarantee continuous monitoring, prevention of crime or retention of every event. Report injuries, product concerns, fuel concerns, suspicious equipment or property damage promptly when safe. Give the approximate time, location, dispenser number if applicable, product, receipt details and a contact method. Do not post payment-card details or sensitive personal data publicly. Prompt reporting assists investigation and preservation; it is not a waiver or condition that removes legal rights. Customers remain responsible for losses they legally cause, and Fleck's Mart remains responsible for duties imposed on it by law.
